WEDNESDAY 6pm – Group Psychotherapy for men struggling with sex, porn and love addiction
This confidential, small, weekly evening 90 minute therapist led group is designed to help people struggling to recover from their out of control sexual behaviors. We invite individuals with complex presentations and co-occurring issues that may have made recovery very difficult such as, over working, codependency, over eating, history of substance abuse, mood disorders, codependency, learning and attention (ADHD) differences and more to become group members.
The group covers topics related to sobriety, intimacy, secrets, shame, healthy lifestyle, skills related to anger management, communication, relapse prevention, boundaries sex, and making behavioral change. This is an on-going group with several members with longer term recovery that offer experience and hope to new members in the initial phase of the group. The second phase of the recovery process is focusing on oneself more deeply, addressing co-occurring issues, one’s ability to be oneself, take care of oneself and to be able to co-create positive and authentic relationships.

Men’s Recovery Group
This is an on-going group for men in recovery from sexual or pornography addiction. This group is structured so that individuals move through three phases of treatment within the group. Typically, individuals within the same group are working on different phases of their treatment.
The initial phase of the Men’s Recovery Group helps individuals to successfully start their recovery and establish sobriety. The initial phase focuses on:
- Developing tools to build recovery
- Creating a sobriety plan
- Identifying behaviors that give power to the sexual or pornography addiction
- Identifying situations and patterns that undermine recovery
The second phase of the Men’s Recovery Group helps individuals to continue their recovery process and maintain sobriety. The second phase focuses on:
- Providing skills and concepts to support recovery and sobriety
- Uncovering the underlying issues that have been feeding the addiction
- Understanding how the addiction mirrors underlying wounds
- Developing empathy for those damaged by the addiction in preparation for making amends
- Developing unconscious competence for sobriety
The third phase of the Men’s Recovery Group continues to develop and maintain the tools, routines, and neurological changes that support sobriety. Members identify, address, and work to heal underlying trauma, which has been a factor in driving the addiction. This group supports members in developing and maintaining healthy balance in all aspects of their life.
Men’s Monthly Group
The Monthly Group is designed to provide support and guidance as sex addicts who have created successful sobriety and recovery transition from weekly involvement in the Willow Tree Counseling recovery program to maintaining their successful sobriety and recovery within the community at large. This group meets monthly and members take on increased responsibility for the content and leadership of the group. In order to join the Men’s Monthly Group, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Attended a Men’s Recovery Group for at least 18 months
- Completed Men’s Recovery Group homework
- Have engaged in individual trauma healing work
- At least 6 months of sobriety
- Are “solid” in their sobriety and recovery
- Completed Step 1
All addict groups at Willow Tree Counseling are led by specially trained clinicians who have expertise and specific knowledge about betrayal via sex addiction. Please contact Info@willowtreesantarosa.com for more information.
